Pakistan loots Chinese call center (X/@MeghUpdates)
Islamabad saw a dramatic scene unfold when a mob of locals robbed a Chinese-operated call center seconds after lawmen raided the building. The call center in Sector F-11 was said to be engaged in questionable practices and was running illicitly. When Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) officers entered the building, a bunch of locals broke in, grabbing whatever they could get their hands on.
Videos of the plundering soon made it to social media, depicting men of all ages snatching laptops, desktops, monitors, keyboards, extension cords, and even furniture. Some people were caught running off with cutlery and other stationery. The bold act, which was done during the day, has attracted extensive publicity and outrage.

The episode caused a spate of reactions on X (formerly Twitter). One of the users made a sarcastic remark, "Pakistanis have looted a call center run by Chinese. They stole laptops, electronic gadgets, furniture, and even cutlery during the holy month of Ramadan!" Another one joked, "It seems they confused the call center with a charity drive. Laptops to cutlery, everything is stolen!" A third user observed, "China has been looting Pakistan for years. Now, Pakistanis have looted some of China's printers and computers."
Twenty-four persons, including foreign nationals, have been arrested in relation to the incident by the authorities. Some suspects, however, escaped on the spot. Public lootings of this nature are not new to Pakistan. A similar incident had taken place last September when a brand-new mall in Karachi was invaded by a mob that caused damage to property and mass theft.
